As the economy slowly improves, many companies remain hesitant to bring on full-time employees. Temporary and contract staffing, however, has continued to grow due to the flexibility it offers employers. Companies can complete projects or add to their departments during times of need for significantly lower costs than hiring a new full-time employee.

Educated professionals are open to temporary and contract staffing, seeing it as a bridge to permanent employment. Staffing firms benefit the economy through jobs, labor market flexibility, skill enhancement, lower unemployment rates, and enhanced productivity.
