Elaine M. Chaffee - Executive Vice President, SPHR

Elaine M. Chaffee’s background includes Operations, Human Resource management, and HR Consulting in the manufacturing and service industries. She has over 25 years of HR professional experience which includes Executive Leadership positions, and/or as CEO for her own HR Consulting practice. She has worked for both private and public corporations and has Strategic Planning, Business Leadership, and Divestitures/Acquisitions/Due Diligence expertise in addition to the technical experience in the HR profession. When operating her own HR Consulting firm, she served as a retained HR Consultant for manufacturing/private companies, in addition to handling HR Project work for clients in diverse industries including manufacturing, municipalities, and the service industries.

 

Education and Associations

She holds a BS in Business Management and Senior Professional Human Resource designation (SPHR). She has also instructed the preparation class for this designation at Indiana University. She has training and experience in strategic planning, Union Avoidance Initiatives, Collective Bargaining including Union Negotiations, Shared Services, Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen, Benefit Planning and Design, HRIS implementation, DDI Targeted Selection and Empowerment Certification, and Development/Succession Planning. She has also worked within an organization that filed for bankruptcy and handled the employee relations impact/restructuring as a result of the filing. This including planning and execution of the closing of 4 plant locations, and 1 consolidation including relocation of Corporate headquarters from Illinois to Indiana. She also handled the transition of the Division to stand-alone entity due to a private equity acquisition.

 

She is currently a member of the National Society of Human Resources (SHRM) and serves as President of the local Michiana SHRM chapter.
