Contract Staffing

Contract Staffing – Time specific / Project based positions

What is Contract Staffing?

  • Contract staffing is when employees are hired to perform specific functions in a contractual relationship for a client company and for a defined period of time.
  • Contract employees are hired based on the specific needs of the client company.
  • Other common names for this are temporary employees, temps, temp to perm and short-term employees.
  • 90% of U.S. companies use temporary help services!

Do I Have Options in the Length of Time I Use a Contract Employee?

  • YES! Career Transitions is VERY flexible. The following are typical options that are available, although you have the flexibility to change the length at any time.
  • Flexible Part-Time – Contractor on call, as few or as many hours as client company desires. Typically varies week to week.
  • Part-Time – A set amount of hours per week, less than 40.
  • Full-Time – Set length of the project (weeks, months, etc.).
  • Full-Time Open Ended - Until the project is over (with a 2-week notice prior to the project ending).

Contract to Permanent Positions

What is Contract to Permanent Placement?

Temporary to Permanent Placement – Employee starts out as a contractor of Career Transitions and then when the client is ready, they can hire the contractor as one of their employees (fees depend on length of the project thus far and the salary of the contract employee).

What are the Benefits of Hiring an Employee on a Temp-Perm Basis?

  • Quote from one of our current clients: “This has been the best thing we could have done. By doing a 90-day temp to perm, we have the flexibility to evaluate an employee and if needed, release a contractor without the difficulties that usually accompany this situation.”
  • The temporary basis of this arrangement allows both the client company and the employee to evaluate each other prior to becoming a permanent employee.
  • The client company has the flexibility of releasing an employee that is not working out for ANY reason without dealing with typical human resource issues that typically accompany releasing an employee.
  • Ninety-four percent of the nation’s top 1000 companies consider it a valuable practice to hire employees as contractors/temps as a method of evaluation.”
